Description
The specimen is a brain sliced horizontally through the level of the basal ganglia and showing a
large, partly necrotic tumour on the left, occupying the area of the thalamus and distorting the
ventricular system. The tumour extends down into the mid-brain and here there are areas of
haemorrhage, as shown on the reverse of the specimen.
